Allison broke her Pinky

Allison came home from PE complaining about pain in her hand specifically her pinky finger.  During PE they were playing some kind of dodgeball bowling game..  She reached out to stop the ball and her hand bent backwards.  Allison can over exaggerate on injuries.  We iced it down and gave Motrin.  The next morning she complained but that was expected.  It was the next day I became concerned when the swelling had not gone down.  I called the pediatrician who said it sounded sprained but to give it over the weekend if not better than to come in.  On Friday Allison was still complaining so Richard and I decided I should take her into the urgent care.  After a quick exam and X-rays the Doctor said it was broken.  They referred us to a specialist and put her finger in a splint.  We made it through the weekend to her appointment Monday with the orthopedic specialist.  They put it in a brace type thing.  It has a hard case inside of it.  She can only take it off to shower.  We went back fir xrays and the break hasn't shifted but her finger is not healing as fast as it should.  Whick means she could be in it longer than the projected 4 weeks.
