Its offical!!

As of Wednesday night, we have a crawler in the Sanchez house!!!!  Beckett has been seriously rocking on all fours with knees up all last week.  And last night after both big kids were in bed and Richard and I were chatting in the living room, Beckett took off crawling to get to Toby's rabbit food!  We thought it was a fluke but when Richard put the computer on the ground Beckett took off to crawl to it!  I cant believe it, my lil guy is crawling!  A week from today he will be 8 months old.  I knew time would go by quickly but not this fast.  Also yesterday was another first.  I took the boys to the park while Allison was piano lesson's and Beckett was dieing to get out of his carseat so I let Cooper hold him while going down the slide, he laughed so hard.

It's back!

Soccer season is officially in full swing!  Last week was our first week of practices.  That's two practices for Cooper and two for Allison.  Plus they both have a game each week.  During soccer season I feel like I am running crazy all over town for two months!  Allison loves it, so its definitely worth the craziness.  Cooper I think its more of a social thing, but maybe he will improve this season.

Allison had a game this past Saturday before we drove into Midland for the baby shower.  The Blizzards played against Xtreme and won 6-0.  Allison made one goal and two assist's.  We did pretty good considering we had a few players sick.  Which meant no subs, and the girls had to play the entire game.

Cooper had his game on Tuesday.  Sunday night we were all in the garage, cleaning out the car.  The door was closing shut, just as Cooper was running in the house.  Sure enough Cooper's face hit the door knob!  Poor guy was left with a pretty good black eye!  Cooper has been excited about soccer season, maybe because he knows what to expect or because he gets to see his friends.  He tried to run and kick during the first half of the game, but quickly lost interest!  We have to kept telling him to quite goofing around and play soccer!  But all the boys play with each other, so what can we do.  I know it's just for fun, but I hope Cooper tries a bit harder this season.  My in laws also came to the game and sat out in the cold with us.  I believe we lost the game, it was the only team that beat us last season too.

California here we come!

My lil family~ Stacey

HI PLUTO! Stacey

Me and my lil guy~ Stacey

These pictures are from are last two trips to Disney Land.  A week from today we are leaving to California!  Because of Richard's 10days on 4 days off schedule, we have to be back on Friday the 15th.  So in order for us to spend time at my Aunts in Northern CA, a few days in Southern CA at Disney Land, and drive time we are leaving Tuesday after school the week before spring break on the 5th.  We have driven before twice actually, back then with just two kids.  I don't expect the drive to be bad actually, and my kids are excellent travelers.  There are several things I am excited about this trip.  First it's been nearly 2 years since I've seen my Aunt!  We talk on the phone all the time, text, and email.  But I cant wait to put my arms around her and spend some quality time with her!!  Secondly I am excited to be off ten days with my hubby.  The last time we spent that many days together was when Beckett was born nearly 8 months ago!  And I cant leave out how excited I am to take the kids back to Disney Land.  Its a little different this time, the kids are both older.  Its been exactly two years since we last went and this time my kids have opinions!  Every thing is booked for our trip hotels and Disney tickets etc.  Right know I am in planning mode/packing mode.  We've bought knew dvd's, dsi games, toys, and snacks/drinks. The car is getting detailed Monday before we leave.  Plus I got an oil change last week, a throttle body cleaner, and new wipers!  I hope these next few days fly by which I am sure they will.  We've got two soccer games, dentist apt, mops meeting, soccer practices, and two birthday parties to pass the time!

Natalie's baby shower

Saturday was my niece's baby shower!!  I was so excited for her baby shower, to become a mom for the first time is just so special.  I can relate to those memorable and unforgettable first moments.  Natalie's hostess did a wonderful job decorating the church, it was a beautiful room full of blues and greens!!  My sister in law also added a few decorations and food I believe.  After planning a lot of Natalie's wedding and baby shower I told Richard my sister in law should be a party planner she has such an eye for detail. Allison was my little buddy at the shower for a short time.  The day before she kept asking who was going to be at the shower and where was daddy and the boys going to be.  After having three conversations about it I knew she wouldn't stay at the shower long.  About twenty minutes into the shower Allison left early to spend time with her Uncle Manuel.  There was a ton of people at the shower, which meant a lot of gifts for Connor!  There was an assortment of wonderful foods, which I was still unable to eat boo (darn wisdom teeth).  I got to sit by some of Natalie's friends.   I was able to chat with a few of them, such nice and classy women.  The hostess had fun games: guess how many gummy bears in the bottle, how many toilet paper sheets fit around the belly, guess the baby food, and guess what candy is in the diaper.  My favorite part of the shower was watching Natalie open all Connor's gifts.  She got so many cute things.  It seems like yesterday when I was 34 weeks pregnant with Beckett at Natalie's wedding and here we are almost a year later and I am at Natalie's baby shower and she is nearly 33 weeks.  I cant wait for Connor to be born and to spoil my great nephew.  While we helped load all the shower gifts into my brother inlaws car both the boys were died alseep in the highlander, I had to grab a picture because they constantly fall asleep at the same time!

After the shower we went to Academy to buy Allison her bow and arrow, which she got because of her A report card!  I need to take a picture of Allison and her bow.  We also stopped by my sister and brother in laws house, they had found Allison a Dallas Cowboy's cheerleading outfit, which she wont take off because she LOVES it!!  Then we went to dinner with my mother and father in law.  It was so fun to linger in Midland and hang out with some of my favorite people.  Plus I was able to eat bread and popcorn shrimp, yeah for food and getting my stitches out this coming Wednesday.  The kids even had fun, and Beckett enjoyed getting loved on by his grandma!!!

Mommy daughter date

Friday after soccer practice and dinner Allison and I went to get our nails done together.  It was nice to leave the boys behind and go out by ourselves.  We were lucky to get a cool nail tech, he pulled up some assume eighty's music from Madonna to Paula Abdul on his phone.  Its funny to me how specific Allison is on what color and design she wants on her nails.  It was so fun and relaxing to finally get my nails done, its been awhile!  I feel immensely blessed to have a daughter and a life long nail buddy.

Cooper's questions

Do ants poop? And if they poop can you see it?

What do horses eat and how do they sleep?

Grandma doesn't live in Midland any more she lives in California in a fort (Cooper thinks the United States is made up of two states TX and CA, also my mom lives in Fort Worth not a fort)

Mom, what are nerds?  Are they Indians?  (I have to confess I had just called a gentlemen in front of me an idiot because he had nearly ran over a kid speeding past a cross walk! So to explain Cooper meant idiot not Indian.)

I don't remember, where did Beckett Sleep when we first got him?

What would happen if Beckett ran out of diapers?

What happens if a person goes into outer space without a helmet?

Humbled

As I drove back into Hobbs I realized how completely humbling this weekend was to me.  I was remind just how blessed I am to have been born into the family that I have, and for the extended family I gained by marrying Richard.  I always joke about my bad luck or bad timing in life.  But I know that I have been abundantly blessed in the family and friends department, and above all blessed beyond measure with my soul mate my true love (Richard).  I mean who meets the love of there life at the tender age of 15?!  I didn't have to look far for Richard, and technically he found me.  Not to say life has been easy, because I have had my share of trials and tribulations believe me.  We each have our own path to walk.  But this weekend I was surround by my immediate family and never before in my life had I made this connection.  I've always lived so close to my sisters/mom, literally 5 minutes or less.  And know that's a totally different story.  This coming Saturday my sister Jamie leaves Midland (probably forever) to her new home in CA.  Then this summer my sister Courtney is moving to Florida to be closer to her new husbands family.  Its been nearly two months since I've seen my baby sister, who know lives in San Angelo.  Have I mentioned I haven't seen my mom since before Thanksgiving!  I know this is normal for some people, but NOT FOR ME!  When I grew up we were all that each other had, our bond with each other is different.  I will compare it to an invisible string that binds us all together some how, unlike most relationships.  I am saying I cant physically live without these people in my everyday life.  I am sure your thinking whats the big deal, but it is a big deal, to me!  When we were all together (minus Richard, he had to work boo)  I was so happy, such happiness that has eluded me these past few months.  That kind of happiness that when you achieve it, it could bring you to tears.  I am learning to treasure these moments, because they will be few and far between know.

Cousin love!!!  I know this is a long post but I dont want to forget how much fun all the kids had together.  They have all grown up together and play so well together.  For those of you who dont know who all the kids are I will start with Beckett and move all the way to baby Clara.

Heather's baby shower

Saturday was my little sister's baby shower.  My sister Courtney and I had been planning for this for months!  I have driven into Midland several times for brain storming, trips to the store, making her gifts, planing and putting together the games, and bring all the decorations etc.  We were still working away Friday night and Saturday morning.  We were even busy putting it all together at my sister Jamie's house down to ten minutes before the shower started!  But it all came together beautifully!  We made the perfect decision's on the food everything was a hit, but don't blame me for the ugly iced cupcakes.  Yes, I said it!  Heather you have no talent icing cupcakes, but thanks for helping us out since we were behind.  The decorations were perfect, our gifts came together, and many friends came together to shower Heather and baby Marcus with gifts.  We cant wait for lil Marcus's arrival.

Ear infection and Broncitis

The day before my wisdom teeth were suppose to be removed Beckett and Cooper had a runny nose and cough.  I was hoping it was just allergies from the wind but by Thursday night I knew I needed to get Beckett an appointment.  Friday morning I called the pediatrician and they were able to fit me in at the last appointment of the day.  I picked up Allison from school and we drove straight into Midland.  My poor lil baby B had not eaten but once that day.  First thing the Dr notice was how inflamed his ears were.  Then the Dr listened to his chest and was worried.  She insisted we do a breathing treatment and oxygen level check right then.  His oxygen levels were at 84 before the breathing treatment and went up to 93 after.  The Dr gave him amoxicillin for his ears and for his cough/breathing issues albuterol, with strict orders to bring him back Sunday if he wasn't any better and they would hospitalize him.  My poor baby was pretty lethargic.  I was so thankful my mother in law stayed in doors and took care of him while I ran around town Friday night filling prescription's etc and all Saturday while I prepared for the shower etc.  The medicine seems to be doing its job, Beckett's cough has really diminished, he still is pretty congested though.   I just wish his appetite would come back because Beckett is still barely eating twice in a 24 hour period.

Wisdom teeth

This past Wednesday I had four of my wisdom teeth pulled, plus a filling, and a cleaning.  My sweet husband took two days off to help.  My mother and father in law also took a day off just in case I wasn't back on my feet by Friday.  I even had my sister's on stand by in case I wasn't up for the baby shower.  Which meant even with all the planning we had done, I had to leave the rest of the to-do's to my sister Courtney.  I normally am not a medicine taker, nor do I go to the Dr.  Although I am freak when it comes to my kids, I take them to the Dr for EVERYTHING!  You can imagine my concern when the dentist told my I would be on 6 different medications for my surgery!  Plus medicine of any kind tends to make me vomit.  And yes I vomited a few times, thank goodness I don't remember it, and thank goodness my husband still loves me after cleaning it all up!  I wished I would have put the connection of taking 4 sedation pills two hours before my appointment would have meant I wasn't going to be walking into my appointment.  Just maybe I would have planned my morning a little different.  I am happy to say I am well 4 days later, but the honest truth is I am still recovering.  My brain is function but my mouth well it still has some catching up to do.  I didn't realize I would still be on a soft food diet for 10 days, because I would have planned a little better on meals.  I also wont mention the 5 pounds I've lost since.  Did I mention I also missed Allison's Valentines party?  Richard went and he grabbed this sweet picture of her before school.

Baptism preview

I think most of my blog followers know that I belong to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints better know as "Mormon".  We believe when you turn 8, you are at the age of accountability and can choose to be baptized as a member of the church.

Sunday night we went to the baptism preview for all the children turning 8 this year.  Allison will be turning 8 May 4th and she has decided that she wants to be baptised on her birthday (which falls on a Saturday).  During the baptism preview we learned what it means to be baptised, and how its a important desicon.  The children got to see the baptismal font and learn the process.  They also received personal bags with special items: journal, towel, a booklet of information.  Allison was so excited to be surrounded by her friends.  She has been writing in her little journal ever since.  All I have to say is let the planning begin for her big DAY!!

Saturday Adventures

Last Saturday started early!!!!  Cooper woke up through the night crying out, poor guy limped the whole day because of his shot from the day before.  I checked on Cooper at 5:10 am and never went back to sleep!!  Around 7:00 Cooper woke up and slowly we all ate breakfast, got dressed, and ready to leave for the day.  First on the agenda was hair cuts.  After haircuts Richard dropped me off at my sisters for a craft day!!  We had a few more projects to finish for my sisters shower and we started another couple of projects for my niece's baby boy.  I kept the boys and Richard and Allison ran around town.  Richard picked me up around three to head back to my in laws for an early dinner, BBQ!!!  It was nice to get together and see almost everyone, and to celebrate my father in law's birthday.

Date Night

After all our running around Friday, Richard decided kinda last minute that we should have a date night since I will be under the weather on Valentines day (I am getting my wisdom teeth out, I will post about that later).  So after all our running around on Friday we dropped the kids off, unloaded the car, ordered a pizza, and left the kids with grandma and grandad.  We decided to check out the new restaurant Chito's.  It is pretty much identical to Ajuua's but a nicer atmosphere.  After dinner we had a little bit of time to kill and ran to target to buy the kids teacher gifts for Valentines day.  We were looking around target at different things for the kids, I laughed and told Richard how silly we were doing things for the kids while out on a date night!  We then went to the movie, I even splurged and bought CANDY!  It was such a nice time with my sweetheart.  I think as parents you learn to function around your kids interruptions, questions, and there daily needs.  It was heavenly not to tend to someone elses needs for a few hours and just enjoy my hubby!

Shots..

This weekend was Richard's four days off.  Cooper had kindergarten sign ups last week which meant I had to scheduled his four year shots. I figured I would need Richards help so I made sure to schedule it while Richard would be off.  After Cooper's Valentines party we pick up Allison from school early and drove into town.  Cooper was so chill about the whole thing.  He got weighed, the nurse took his height, tested his hearing, eyesight, and took his blood pressure.  Cooper even had a list of questions and pictures he had to complete.  He weighs 36 pounds and is 40 inches tall.  Cooper was right at average on his weight 51% but slightly under in height at 44%.  Then came the dreaded shots, I honestly think he had no understanding or remembrance of what a shot was.  The nurse asked him to lay down and Cooper got up on the table laid there and rested his arms behind his head.  The first shot he said ow, then the second shot he jerked his leg and cried, the third shot (which is a combined shot) he was full on crying.  Cooper never fought us, he took the shots like such a big boy.  The crying didn't last long, Richard and Cooper were laughing about it when we got to the car.  I cant believe Cooper will be five this July and starting Kindergarten in August.  Its strange because his pregnancy is still vivid in my mind, and even his infant days are still fresh memories.  It almost seems like my lil guy grew up on me over night.  I love my Cooper James:)

Cooper's Vday party

Friday Cooper had his Valentines party.  Luckily Richard was off so we were both able to attend, of course with Beckett too.  First on the teacher's agenda was their balloon release.  Attached to the balloon's was a note that said something along the lines of: if you find my balloon write to me, with each child's name, and the schools address.  All the children holding hands with the parents and teachers walked across the street and then released the balloon's.  The wind was blowing pretty hard that morning and a few of the balloon's got stuck in a tree across the street.  It was fun watching the balloon's float until they were out of sight.  Next we got to watch a puppet show that a few of the parents put on.  And then the best part food and opening up Valentines cards.  Cooper got a ton of candy!  The director also had her famous back drop set up for pictures, that women is so creative!!  This school year has been so fun to see how Cooper interacts with his classmates and his teacher.  Cooper has become so independent, he is an amazing listener, and follows directions and his teacher.  Cooper use to be such a follower and would follow his sister when it came to food, toys, or games.  But know Cooper definitely has his own opinion, I love my little guy so much.

Super Bowel

Sunday was Super Bowel and we had a little get together with some friends of ours and there baby at our house.  I made so much food, Richard took all the leftovers to work and came home with empty containers Monday afternoon.   I spent Thursday afternoon making a list for food and scanning pinterest for recipes to make.  I have to admit this was one super bowel I was actually rooting for a team that I liked.  I grew up in Midland but I spent my entire summers in California from the age of 6-18 and have only missed one year visiting CA in the last 10 years.  I consider myself a California girl at heart.  My Aunt's live a little more than an hour away from San Fransisco.  Not to mention that my aunt Steffer is a huge 49ers fan.  We even got her tickets to a game this season for her birthday.  It was fun to watch the game with friends eat good food and root for our team.

7 months

Its crazy how time passes.  It seems like just yesterday I was waddling around with Beckett still in my belly, awaiting his arrival.  That stubborn boy only came one day early and that was because I was induced.  I always envied those women who had there babies a week or two early.  All my kids stayed put until I was induced.  Some how seven months have gone by and my tiny sickly baby is know a mostly healthy big baby who still has no hair lol.  Beckett has still not mastered crawling, that kid is just to content to just sit down and chill.   With our other kids Richard and I would put the remote control (Or whatever object they always wanted) and place it in front of them to give them incentive to crawl to it.  Not Beckett, he is totally fine and will entertain himself by watching his siblings.  A couple of weekends ago Beckett got his two bottom teeth in, which caused a few fussy days but nothing major.  He still only eats 6 oz at every feeding, and eats two full servings of baby food a day.  Honestly Beckett is not my eater but he is so content not moving around and observing things.  And truthfully I am okay with him being immobile for the time being, because I am a busy mom!  Some days I cant believe I am so lucky to have my Beckett boy, it doesn't seem real.  He is such an easy going baby, who loves to snuggle and be held by his mommy, and will let me kiss him until my hearts content.  Happy seven months my sweet sweet boy.

Play dates

On Thursday Cooper had a play date with his friend Deagan, they were so good and play excellent together.  It was my pleasure to watch him and Cooper even asked if he could spend the night,  After Deagan went home we made dinner and Cooper fell asleep on the table, I guess his time with his friend wore him out.

On Friday we picked up Allison's friend Madison after school and she spent a few hours at our house. The girls played in Allison's room and poor Cooper was just so bummed he wanted in on their action.  He laid on the floor crying by her door.  It was pathetic, I tried to distract him several times!  The girls were changing clothes and pretending to talk on the phone, it was total girl time.  We finally left the house and took the kids to pizza hut and then out to the new ice cream place Cherry Berry.  And soon it was time to take Madison home.

The kids have so many friends here in Hobbs, its nice to have play dates before the rush of soccer season is upon us!

Groundhogs day

Richard was working this past weekend so the kids and I had to fill our day with fun activities.  Both the kids got notes sent home from school about making there own valentines box/bag.  Normally I thought that was done at school but we had fun making our own.  I have a stash of crafts and was able to pull some fun things out for the kids to decorate.  Allison was all about decorating, my Cooper was not.  He literally handed me a few decorations and said I pick this you glue it on.  It was such a nice day Saturday that we decided to load up and spend some time at the park, but first we had to drive around town hunting for girl scout cookies for Allison.  The kids love the new park that's been built and Beckett was so content in the stroller.  After the park we came home and made cupcakes.  It was such a chill day and Richard even got home early.

Growth

My Cooper James ask me a question a couple of days ago "Mom when do you stop getting bigger and bigger, does your body grow forever?"  I laughed and thought what an interesting question.  Cooper and I talked about our bodies for about 30 minutes.

Cooper's question got me thinking on a deeper level.  I was thinking about the type of growth we make in our lives.  We grow as individuals, as a married couple, or as mothers etc etc.  There is no secrete that I miss Midland, and how Hobbs is not my favorite place to live.  Don't get me wrong  I have meet some wonderful people here in Hobbs.  My kids have some pretty amazing friends here.  I love our church family here, I have definitely made some forever friends in Hobbs.  I really enjoy the MOPS group I am apart of.  And the number one reason we moved here was for Richard job which he has grown tremendously while we have lived here.  But lets face it, Hobbs is not really my home, and I live for the day we move.  I think living here has been a total learning opportunity for me, I have had to grow in ways I never thought possible.  We have been in Hobbs this month for 18 months.  We have traveled to Midland for nearly EVERY event for any of our family members.  We want to be with family.  I am not sure what our future hold in the next 6 months, I have an idea of what I want but I leave it up to my Father in Heaven.  Which is a hard thing to do for this controlling women/mother/wife.  I cant allow life to pass me by while I wait either, which is a huge lesson I've learned.  I, we have to live and not miss a moment that life has to offer.
