A mother

Some days run together and remind me of the movie groundhogs day, but there are a few days that stand out.  Most of my days consist of waking kiddos up, feeding children, dressing children, finding shoes, getting everyone to school on time, entertaining a walking baby, feeding/changing/bathing/nap schedules, making lunches, washing clothes, making beds, cleaning the same thing over and over, dishes, sweeping, mopping, dusting, oh the toilets (BOYS), cleaning the tub, cleaning the yard, soccer practice, piano practice, where are the sheen guards, lost soccer ball, homework times two, and more sweeping!  Some days like yesterday I was at my kids school 4 times! We were picking up two of the kids friends after school, one kids mom had a Dr. apt and the others grandma was out of town.  Its so very easy to lose your identify and only be MOM!  It so easy to get caught in the constant making kids lunches for school, wash and lay out there clothes, drop off/pick up.  Especially the baby (I refuse to call him my toddler) he needs me constantly, or he can very easily get him self into trouble.  Yesterday was one of those days where I believe life reminds you hey its all for something!  That morning was a little rough, I was getting on to Cooper for the hundredth time about something.  We were in the drop off line and he looked up at me with his big blue eyes with tears filling up.  He told me he loved me and shut the door to go to school.  I felt terrible all morning and thought what a trivial thing I was mad at him about and decided to surprise both kids for lunch.  Both the kids lunches are thirty minutes apart from each other.  Cooper was of course surprised to see me, I brought him a sprinkle donut which he devoured.  he kept putting his arms around me hugging me.  I told him I was sorry for getting on to him earlier, he kissed me on the check.  After lunch was over he went to line up and I hugged him.  I watched him walk outside talking to his friends, he caught a glimpse of me out of the corner of his eye and ran back to hug me and whispered to me "Your the best mommy."  Then Allison's class came in and she saw me, we sat down and chatted for a minute.  When we were about to leave she was talking to Beckett and he was reaching for her and she gave him a hug and he didn't want to let her go.  As we left Beckett kept waving good bye to Allison.  Some times life slows down just enough for you to see the little things.  The love between siblings, or the thoughtful words from one of your children.  I am so thankful to be my children's mother. I don't have a job where I clock in every morning, answer to a boss, or can call in sick.  My job is 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year forever.  I wouldn't change a thing about my life, I love my kids fiercely and am so thankful for the opportunity to stay home with them.  I am thankful for the tender mercies the Lord grants me.

Pinterest take 3, I think..

My favorite new recipe!! Oven-baked chicken fajitas. Everything is put into a 9x13 baking dish and baked at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and serve in warmed tortillas....Cheeseburger In Paradise Casserole Recipe

"OMG Chicken" Just mix Sour Cream or Yogurt (1/2 c) and parm cheese (1/4 c). Spread over chicken breast in a baking dish, sprinkle italian bread crumbs on top and bake for 20-30 minutes. SO moist and tasty!
I love Pinterest, it gives me lots of ideas! Helps me plan birthday parties, baby showers, craft projects, baptisms, Halloween costumes, or helps me find the right pair of boots.  But I mainly use Pinterest for finding and making recipes!  I am pretty good about selecting recipes of food that number one I like and number two that I have the ingredients for already. I have yet to have a recipe flop, each thing I have tried is great!  I have added so many Pinterest recipes to my own book and are now regulars in my kitchen, gotta love Pinterest!

Another vistor!

On Sunday night my sister and her hubby stopped by for a visit!  As I have mentioned before on my blog my sister Jamie and her husband are leaving for her second assignment with Chevron to Kazakhstan on Wednesday.  Due to the laws in Kazakhstan and the amount of time they will be there they have decided to leave there two Yorkies with my mom in Fort Worth.  They drove down from San Ramon California and stopped in Midland to visit us and my brother in laws family on there way to my moms.  My sisters birthday was yesterday so we decided to make a lil celebration dinner for them.  Spending time with my sister was bittersweet!  I enjoyed are lil visit and will miss her while she is gone.  Although she will be flying back to the states for Christmas!

House update

Things have really moved along with the house as far as renovations go.  We are finally done with our first wave of renovations.  We pulled out all the carpet in our living room and hall way.  Lets say what a chore that was, whoever glued down that carpet had a ton of fun with the glue!  We had to scrap it off after we laid down this special chemical several times.  The fumes from that chemical were awful!  Then we ripped off all the terrible paneling in the living room and entry way and the base boards.  We are still slowly getting ride of all the trash we complied from the carpet to wood from the paneling!  After getting Lowes to put in the wood floors, tile in the bathroom, and knew base boards through out the house.  We hired someone to sand, texture, and paint the entire living room and entry way.  So glad that's over with, I absolutely hate the smell of paint.  We also decided we could paint the kitchen our selves, BIG MISTAKE!  Painting isn't hard its just time consuming and takes a lot of patience.  We didn't have either!  In between all the work going on in other parts of the house, a walking baby, and parenting it took us 5 days to finish painting!  On top of all this major stuff we bought a lot of knew furniture, its funny how nothing arrives at the same time or at a convenient time.  We have done a lot of little updates around the house like replacing light fixtures, power outlets/light outlets, kitchen cabinet knobs, and painting the mantel etc. We plan to update both bathrooms in the house, but with the holiday's around the corner we are going to wait until after the new year.  For now we just want to continue replacing all the light fixtures through out the home, and replace all the old doors in the house. I have a ton of before and after pictures but I wont post them on here until after we invite all our family and friends over for Richard's big birthday celebration!

My mom also came for a quick visit this past weekend.  She drove into town on Thursday and we got to work!  I cant remember the last time I had that much fun!  We shopped and decorated from Thursday up until the minute she left on Saturday afternoon.  I will never forget the time that we spent together.  We literally went from room to room decorating.  It was fun finally using more of our decorations that have been in storage since we've lived in Hobbs and of course knew stuff is fun too!  In between all the decorating and Richard working this weekend both kids had soccer games at the same time!   I am so thankful I had my mom and in laws to help balance the kids games.  I was very sad to see my mom leave but I enjoyed every second I spent with my mom.

Brand new!

Since the boys will be bunking together we of course had to update Cooper's furniture.  We officially have a bunk bed!  I looked for a long time to find the right type.  A lot of the latter's on bunk beds are movable and are not attached, that was a big negative in my book. The bunk bed came in while the kids were at school and Cooper came home and was shocked!  He loves the bunk bed and doesn't want to get out of it.  All weekend Cooper has asked me if he can have someone spend the night on his new bunk bed.  Did I mention Allison is a bit jealous and wants to know why she doesn't get a bunk bed.  I keep trying to explain to her she is lucky she doesn't have to share a room!  There is also someone else who likes the bunk bed, Mr B!  Beckett likes to bring all his toys and put them on the bottom bunk.  He also likes to crawl up on the bed and sit or lay on the bed.  Eventually Beckett and Cooper will share a room but we still feel like Beckett is still to young and unfortunately both boys are very light sleepers I worry about them waking each other.  We are thinking of moving Beckett in there after Xmas around the time when he is 18 months.

My days with B

The big kids have been in school for three weeks.  While they've been at school Beckett and I have had completely full days together.  I am hoping since we are now out of the construction zone things wont be so hectic and get back to normal.  Although Mr. B is always happy to be along for the ride whither its for our daily three mile walks our frequent trips to Lowe's.  I think Beckett is finally acclimated with the new house, he doesn't like to be alone though and will bring whatever toy he is playing with to where ever he can find a person.  A few days after the floors were put in Beckett had a major tripping accident!  He was walking down the hall with a army tank of Cooper's and fell face first on top of the tank.  His poor lil face was really scratched up, it bled a lot and looked pretty nasty.  Thankful it didn't take to long to heal thanks to my constant applications of Neosporin.  As long as I don't miss one of Beckett's two naps during the day the kid is all smiles all day!  We are having a hard time fitting his second nap in when both kids have soccer practice thirty minutes apart from each other at opposites parts of town but I am hoping to adjust things somewhere so he is not super fussy during Cooper's soccer practice!  Beckett is still eating everything and growing like a weed and loved by everyone around him.  I know I mentioned before how Beckett steals food, its hilarious to always find him eating food he stole from one of the kids or off the counter!  We were at HEB the other day and my mom called I must have stopped our conversation a million times to thank people for telling me what a cutie Beckett is!  That kid has a million watt smile.  I cant wait to see what the next few months bring us. Did I mention my baby turned 14 months old on the 6th???  I could cry he is seriously a lil toddler know, although he is still the best hugger and loves to snuggle with mommy!  I cant leave out what a huge daddy's boy Beckett is.  He follows Richard around like a shadow and prefers Richard over me hands down!  My little guy has such a big personality.

Soccer season~fall 2013

School has started and so has the fall soccer season!  We are back to juggling our week nights between soccer practice for both kids which are at separate times and different locations!  Cooper had his first game last weekend, which he plays about the same.  I had to giggle when we meet his new team because in Hobbs Cooper was the only white "looking" kid on the team even though he is pretty much full Hispanic!  And our knew team in  Midland are called the Warriors and we are playing with a entire team of blonde haired little boys!!  Every kid on the team has about the same set of skills so the game is pretty evenly played by all the kids.  One of Cooper's team mates is actually in his class at school and lives on our block.

Allison played her first game this past weekend.  Richard is coaching her again and we have a set of girls that are all new to each other.  Our new team use to be apart of two teams that were joined together due to the loss of coaches/players, and we also have two girls that have never played soccer. The Wreaking crews first game had us down 5-3 at half time but we tied it up ending the game 8-8!  Allison made 6 of those goals and two assist!  We decided to play her in her own age group this season to feel out the competition and get her acclimated to MSA again.

New beginings

Before we left Hobbs we had a going away/trophy party for Allison/Richard's soccer team the Blizzards.  We rented out this ice cream yogurt place and had a fun time with the whole team!  All the girls were so cute and had fun chatting with each other.  We are all sad to see the team go, the girls played for two years together.  I have to add Beckett had a blast running all over the place and even managed to make it into the team picture!

Jessica's wedding

Its been almost two weeks since our friends Jessica and Waylon were married but I didn't want to leave it out of the blog!  They are such a sweet couple and it was a beautiful wedding.  My sister, her hubby, and son were all in the wedding.  I watched my sister's step daughter and brought her to the wedding.  Also my inlaws watched Beckett which made things much easier!  It was a hot day but it eventually cooled off.  The kids had a blast hanging out with each other.  I just love weddings.  Congrats again to the Massey's!

Also in other family news my baby sister and her new hubby are expecting again in late April!  Babies everywhere!!!!!

TWINS!!

I am seriously late posting this but life has been crazy!!  My sister went into labor almost a month early with her twin girls, born August 30.  My sister Courtney was due September 28 and set for a C-section because both babies were breach the date set for Sept 19.  After going into labor at 34 weeks and having her labor stopped, the second time she went into labor it was baby time!  Both girls were over 5 pounds and were barely in the NICU a few days with some fluid in their lungs and a bit of jaundice.  My sister is doing great after her C-section and my mom is there in Florida helping her.  I am so sad that I cant be there.  I literally set and thought how the heck could I leave my family for a few days and no scenario worked!  We do plan to visit in March and I cant wait!!  Welcome to the family Skylar and Gemma!!

1st day of school 2013

I cant believe the summer is over!!!  Two of my babies are in school, Cooper is in kindergarten and Allison in third grade.  Where has the time gone.  I am so glad Richard was with me and that we didn't have much time between dropping each kid off or I would have been a mess.  As I left Cooper in his class and walked down the hall I couldn't hold back the tears.  I am going to miss that lil guy at home with me during the day.  Cooper seems so grown up these days, awe I cant handle it!  Allison wow how the heck is she in third grade?!  It was all business in her class when I dropped her off.  Richard and I came back to have lunch with each kid.  It was so nice to see them and hear there excitement for how the day had gone so far.  Both Allison and Cooper are so different like when it comes to things they eat, movies they watch, games they play, and toys etc.  There lunch boxes have completely different meals in them.  Cooper eats like his dad anything and everything, he could eat all day!  Allison is so picky, I make that child at least try everything we eat.  She doesn't care for any spices or food with sauce.  Picking the kids up after school was interesting!  Its a little more complicated because each kid is let out at a different area and kinder is let out early.  Normally I parked and Allison would walk to the car.  Allison got lost and it took me a while to find her.  Cooper was pretty happy about his day.  He told me a lot about the classroom rules and the behavior chart.  Allison was exhausted and wishes she only had one teacher.  She kept saying it was so different then second grade in Hobbs.  I hope she gets use to the school and teachers soon.  I really like both her teachers and Cooper's.  I predict a great school year!

HELLO WORLD!

Back to reality!  We have cable/Internet and best of all we are in our home.  We signed the documents on Wed August 28 and we are officially home owners, Richard drove back to Midland from Hobbs to unload us.  WE stayed up tell 2 am ripping out the carpets, wall paneling, and floor molding. The very next day Lowe's came and installed are new wood floors and tile in the kids bathroom!  We also bought a fridge, kitchen table, and sofa sleeper on that same day.  So many things happened last week it almost seemed like a dream a crazy busy dream!  Richard only stayed with us Wed night and left late Thursday.  Thursday afternoon we celebrated as a family at Chucky Cheese, boy it's obvious we are old!  Allison even had her first soccer practice.  Plus Richard stayed in Midland late to help put together the new kitchen table, rearrange our master bedroom, and hock up our washer/dryer.  I am such a lucky girl to have such a wonderful husband who goes above and beyond the normal call of duty!  I have been very busy unpacking and putting this house in order.  On top of my normal motherly duties to my crew of three!  We still have some things to work on in the house like texturing the walls, painting, ripping out more paneling, and change light fixtures etc.  But eventually it will all get done, especially the unpacking!  I keep telling myself it took me three weeks to pack it all its going to take me more than a couple of days to unpack!  Richard comes back from Hobbs tomorrow night and we are so excited to be all together!!!!
