First day of school 2014

The kids were ready yesterday morning for there first day of school!  They even put in there special breakfast order.  We were on time and not a single melt down besides from Beckett.  Cooper fills a lot more confident this school year, he is in the same hall way at school, the kinder and first grade share the hall.  Cooper's only major complaint is there were only two friends from his kinder class, and worst of all his best friend Luke was in a different class.  Cooper was hesitant but loves his new teacher so much he hasn't mentioned missing his old classmates.  He also told me how his old girlfriend isn't in his class and seeing her at recess isn't enough time sigh.  I really like his teacher she is way organized and super nice, she called us at home on meet the teacher just to introduce her self!

Allison was worried about this school year because the fourth grade meets several hallways away from her last year class.  Allison also didn't have any of her best buds in her new class.  But she's already made a few new friends.  I also love her teacher she kind but focused!  Allison's biggest excitement and worry is she gets a locker.  It seemed so cool to her until she had trouble opening it, poor things stress about everything!  I walked her in this morning and trued helping her, but plan to spend some time after school practicing again so she feels confident.  YAY for a great start!

End of summer

.

When I first I visioned summer it was filled with lazy days.  Boy was I wrong.  Days and weeks filled up. Vacations, soccer camp, swim lessons, play dates, family visits, summer studies, and lots of swimming makes for a full summer.  I think a school year filled with hard work definitely owes you a fun summer.  I didn't have enough time to blog it all but many memories were made.  We've shopped for uniforms, back packs, lunch boxes, and shoes.  All three kids got hair cuts too!  We just finished up our last events to kick off back to school.  Can't believe the months flew by but I am grateful for the time I had with my children.  Both kids grew a solid size bigger, and two shoe sizes!  Cooper graduated swim lesson, he learned to swim the entire distance of the pool!  Allison has always been a terrific swimmer and just enjoyed the extra time in the pool.  She's been very popular and was invited to hang out with friends all summer.  Beckett could be found playing with either sibling, I think he is in for a shock when they start school.  Although I am ready for the school year and for us to get back on a schedule.  Can't wait to see what the school year has to bring to the Sanchez house!

12 years

August 16th was our twelve year wedding anniversary.  We had big plans to spend a few days without kids in Galveston.  The plan was for the big kids to go with my mom in Fort Worth and for Beckett to stay in midland with Richards parents.  We left Thursday and dropped off Beckett and drove to my mom’s that night.  The next morning we left to Galveston.   We couldn't check in tell 4 so we ate and shopped, after checking in went to our room set our luggage down and called to check on the kids.  I hesitate to get to personal here because this information involves others besides my personal blog, so I will be vague. But this is for my personal records for my kids so I will continue carefully.  We recived a phone call concerning a family members of Richards and we left immediately to come back to Midland.  By best friend dropped everything to come pick up Beckett and took him back to Hobbs NM for the night.   We stopped in Fort Worth picked up the big kids and pulled into Midland after 2am.  That's 18 hours of driving in 30 hours!  Heavenly Father was watching over us.  I slept for five hours then drove to Hobbs to pick up Beckett.  A huge shout out to my BFF who took on a lot at 9 months pregnant!  We made it home after lunch nearly 1pm.  The days were a blur, emotions were high.  Our anniversary certainly did not go according to plan but we were exactly where we were supposed to be.  The fact of the situation was I love my husband we the two of us started out our marriage together with love.  Because of the love we had together we became a family and added to it with each one of our babies.  I am in love and I am happy I don't need a trip away to prove it.  I am thankful for the life I have and the people in it.    Twelve years it's just a number, because baby we've got eternity together.

Birthday!!

I made the decision last year to do something out of the ordinary on my birthday each year.  Since my birthday is during the summer there are a lot of options and my kids will always be out of school.  Last year we had a blast as a family at the Carlsbad Caverns.  This year Richard would be working.  I had a wild idea to take my kids to the Abilene Zoo.  Well I turned out my sister was up for the trip and so was my best friend.  My friend D came in the day before and spent the night, it was so fun we got to go shopping and stay up late.  We left early and made the two hour drive.  My sister who lives in San Angelo made the hour drive and meet us at chickfila.  We figure we should eat lunch before a few hours spent at the Zoo.  The kids were excited for the pit stop and I was going to order our food when my sister was chatting with me, someone grabs my arm and I turn around and it was my mother!  She made the 2 and a half hour drive to surprise me for my big 30th bday!  I was shocked I literally started crying, it was such a great surprise.  After lunch we hit up the Zoo.  It was humid and hot, we had plenty of waters and lots to look at.  My favorite exhibit is of course the giraffe.  The fact that you’re super up close and get to feed them is a lot of fun.  In just under three hours we were done.  Afterwards we hit up their new splash pad right next to the Zoo by a huge play area.  The day was surreal, I was surrounded by people who loved me and went out of their way to spend the day with me.  After the two hour drive we made home to eat pizza for dinner and my friend and her son were back on the road.  Richard's family stopped by for cake, it was a nice way to end the day.  Epic birthday!!

Sister visit

My sister and her family were in Midland for four days because her husband had training here.  It was a very fun trip filled with swimming everyday.  I got to enjoy chatting with my sister and catching up on everyday life things.  A few days the kids ran around my house playing, five kids and baby make a messy house and yard!  They played video games, watched movies, pretended to be spies, made forts, and ate a ton of food!  One night my sister and I escaped to get pedicure and shop, we felt so sneaky!  My sister even spoiled me with an early bday present, a bunch of kitchen gadgets.  I also babysat my nephews while my brother in law and sister went to the movies one afternoon.  I was thankful for the time we got to spend together, the days flew by.  I took for granted how easy it was to spend time with family back when we all lived here three years ago.  Spending time together with family seems so much more special these days.
