Two Snow Days

This past week we had some seriously cold weather.  Monday school was canceled because of ice and Friday school was canceled because of the snow.  Monday was very lame, no snow to play in!  Kids watched TV, played board games, video games, and made forts.  I was still recovering from my cold and watched Netflix's a show called Revenge all day, it was just what I needed!  Friday Richard was off and we all slept in tell 8.  I actually had a baby appointment at 10 am and so we carefully drove to grandmas to drop of the kids.  After my appointment we took grandma to Olive Garden for lunch, it took us awhile to get there with the road conditions.  The place was pretty packed and the food was delicious.  After dropping grandma and visiting with granddad we made the icy drive back home.  Then we went home and started a fire and order movies on demand.  The kids played outside a ton!  Cooper doesn't last long, but Allison and Beckett have a blast and don't want to come in.  Everyone stayed up late but it was such a fun day together!

Good bye

Saturday we drove into Hobbs to attend a farewell party for our dear friends the Polings.  I came down with a pretty awful cold Thursday that is still lingering.  I had no voice and the worst drainage but I didn't want to miss the festivities.  Richard had to work, but had plans to leave early and drive to Hobbs and meet us.  We left right after lunch, I packed up the kids and we were on the rode.  I really enjoyed spending time with our Hobbs friends and catching up on life events.  The time past so quickly, Richard made it about half way through the party.  After the party we went to dinner with the Polings.  We have made some pretty amazing friends while we were in Hobbs, I am sad we are running out of reason's to visit that little town.  There are a ton more pictures but these were the only two I got, I'll upload when I get them.

Sick..

Beckett started out with a nasty cold that hit him really fast.  He had a wicked cough and serious drainage.  I practically held him all day Thursday.  Friday morning we were on our morning walk and I had to stop a little more than half way through because I was so dizzy and lightheaded.  Drainage started and my throat was on fire.  After a long day of errands I managed to lay down for a nap with Beckett and when I woke up I was considerably worse.  I barely managed to pick up the kids and crawl back in bed, mama made no dinner kids and ran a muck tell dad got home.  It was cereal and sandwich's for dinner kind of night.  Allison's FC Dallas soccer practices started and Richard left with her.  Thankfully the boys behaved, I had both of them on the bed building Legos quietly.  Mom's don't have time to be sick but being a pregnant sick mom is so awful.  At least I am not in my third trimester yet, because that's to big to be sick!  I remember having strep and a sinus infection 8 months pregnant with Beckett I felt like death!  Although this sickness as been pretty bad, the drainage is unbelievable and I had no voice for awhile.  Try yelling at your kids in a whisper, doesn't work!  I lived with tissue in my hands and watched way to much Netflix's.   I hate sneezing while pregnant I feel like the baby just jumps around and it makes me super nauseous.  Beckett has been by my side through it all laying in blankets with me.  I am getting better and thankful it wasn't worse.

Pre-School

Well its that time of the year for fall registration for Pre-School's.  I had thought about signing Beckett up because he has always been shy and antisocial.  Although he has gotten a lot better.  I thought sending him to a preschool program at age 3, a year earlier would help.  I decided to send him to the same preschool that Allison attend, Heritage Preschool.  Its literally two blocks away from our house and it runs from 8:45-11:45 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  We got one of the last spots.  Its kind of surreal planning my life with four kids in mind.  I think preschool will give Beckett some free play time and help with social skills.  Also it will give me some time alone with the new baby.  I have never sent my kids to preschool until 4 but this preschool has such a lovely program.  There is only two classes one for the 3 year olds and one for the 4 year olds and the max is 8 kids in each class.  I am nervous but excited for this new adventure, August will be here before I know it!

The Poling's come to play!

My good friend from Hobbs is moving back to Oklahoma.  Her move has gone really fast as far as selling and buying a home.  She decided to come visit me one last time before she leaves.  We had a full day planned.  We started off at the children's museum.  The boys ran around for over an hour!  Then we left for lunch at Grub burger. Chatting with such a close friend was exactly what I needed.  After lunch we walked to the park and let the boys run.  It's been to long since we had a nice long chat.  I mean we text and have nice long phone calls pretty often but this was special.  It was sad to say good bye.  We still have this weekends going away party to spend a little more time together.  We are also making plans for a family trip together once a year and a girls trip!  I will forever be thankful to Hobbs for bring our friendship together.

Vday 2015

Valentines Day fell on a Saturday this year and Richard was off.  I had a particular tough week and was felling pretty down and stressed.  Richard spoiled me with new shoes a few days earlier and a huge bouquet of pink roses Saturday morning with T&T donuts.  He rented the kids and us movies and I didn't leave the house all day.  Cooper had a birthday party at the Pottery and I stayed home with a sleeping Beckett and took a two hour nap!  I think my day was better than any mothers day or Vday I've had.  No cleaning, or cooking all day, and no driving kids a hundred places, plus a nap!  Later that day I got my new necklace in the mail, it has a tree of life and all my four children's initials.  Holy cow 4 kids!  I have this saved etsy/pinterest page with gifts I want and Richard just picks out one for a special occasion.  Its nice to be some what surprised but love my gift because I picked it!  For dinner Richard picked up Chickfila which I am craving all the time and we watched Alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day as a family.  Richards parents also watched the kids for us this weekend and we went to dinner and movie alone.  I don't think we've had a date night since early December!  I feel very loved by my sweet husband and I know I can be moody especially right now (thank you pregnancy hormones) but he takes care of me and makes sure I feel special!

Oh side note we've always gifted the kids with a loving gift on Valentines day.  Allison received a new MH doll, Cooper a Camaro car kit, and Beckett a car of course.  Allison also got a large bouquet of daisy's from her dad which she put on HER piano.

Class Parties

On Friday the kids had there class Valentines parties at school.  Thankfully Richard was off and we could split our time at their parties.  Since I am Allison's class room mom of course I went with her.  I planned a Vday themed minute to win it games. There are 22 kids in the class so I split them up into two teams and had them compete for a prize.  I looked for games I thought wouldn't be to hard.  But I was worried how it would all come together.  Total success!!!  Kids had a blast and I will be doing this again.  Cooper's class decorated cookies and played games.  My poor Beckett missed his nap and slept in Richards arms.  Oh I forgot to mention it was dress up 50's day, we did our best.  Rolled up pants and fun hair styles.  By the end of the day Allison's hair fell out and Cooper's slicked back hair didn't stay.  It was a fun day so blessed to attend the kids school parties.

Weekend with Zach

My nephew Zachary came to visit us this weekend.  He had been doing really well in school and my sister wanted to reward him.  Out of the options of rewards he choose to come spend the night with his cousins.  My sister lives in San Angelo and dropped him off Friday afternoon.  The kids were so excited to see each other.  They slept in the playroom and stayed up late.  I wanted to make Zach's stay special and decided to take the kids to the theater to watch the new sponge bob movie.  They were spoiled with popcorn, drinks and candy.  After the movie we went to the park and enjoyed the nice weather.  We grilled out that night and the kids played outside for hours.  It was a fun filled weekend!!

Beckett's Dental Apt

Last week Beckett had a dental appointment.  Back in November Beckett went into his pediatrician for a sick visit.  Poor guy needed a breathing treatment in office he could hardly breath.  Every visit we come the Dr. is always check his breathing and he noticed this visit some discoloration on the back of his teeth.  Which can be a direct cause of the acid reflux he suffered from, causing cavities.  He suggested we get him in with a dentist.  Sure enough our dentist wanted to do fillings on the front and back of his front four teeth to prevent further damage and protect his teeth.  Because of Beckett's age they would do in office anesthesia.  There anesthesiologist comes from Lubbock and they were full for appointments in November and wouldn't schedule any tell the first of February.  So we waited.  Beckett had two follow up visits one with his pediatrician and another with the anesthesiologist to double check with his breathing issues and make sure he could handle being sedated.  Although there is always the possibility of complications.  Tuesday at 6:45 I took Beckett in.  I was with him tell he fell asleep, he was super calm.  He actually fought to stay awake trying so hard to lift his head.  His eyes fluttered until he gave up.  To see no life in him was concerning, but I kissed him good bye.  The plan was up to four hours worth of work.  They would X-ray, clean, and do the fillings.  Richard eventually joined me after dropping the kids off at school, bearing donuts and hot chocolate.  Over three hours and it was done, Beckett was in recovery.  The X-rays showed no permanent damage.  He took a while to open his eyes then he asked for mommy.  We went home with instructions and waited for Beckett to fully come out.  It took about two hours before he was completely awake.  It was fun seeing him try to walk to his room for his blanket, we watched a lot of TV that day.  Another big thing was to see if he could handle water.  He did!  Then it was a day of soft foods and noodles. At the end of the day I can't explain how much relief I felt.  I was actually really worried about my lil guy.  I love my Beckett boy and can't imagine life with out his lil personality running around with smiles and abundant hugs!

18 weeks

I had my dr apt last Wednesday.  Beckett came along, as long as it's a normal easy apt I'll bring him.  I usually don't wait long and Beckett behaves most of the time.  So I totally gained 8 pounds in a month!  Really bummed about that, I know I eat a lot because it suppress my nauseous.  But I am still walking three miles every morning with Beckett.  Nearly half way there and I've gained 15 pounds, I refuse to gain more than 15 more.  I've never been over 150, so that's twenty pounds to go.  Ugh I feel huge and everyone has an opinion about it.  My allergies are bugging me so I brought it up and the dr gave me a few suggestions.  We listened to babies heart beat and that was about it.  I had issues scheduling my sonogram.  My dr only does sonograms on Fridays but he is going to be out of town in two weeks so I have to wait another week.  On the bright side Richards off.  We already now it's a boy but I would like a double confirmation.  Anyway days are passing and I hope time continues to tick by, I am not the biggest fan of pregnancy.  Also I've been feeling the baby for about a month.  Not strong movements but I definitely feel him moving around.  I have been throwing my back out a lot lately.  I rarely experienced back problems through out my pregnancy with Beckett.  For some reason this time around I've been experiencing more problems.  I have been extra busy and that could play a huge part in me over doing it.  I know I need to slow down, I am barely reaching the half way point and have a long way to go dealing with this issue.  I have a pregnancy back brace and I am also going to make some appointments for a chiropractor.  I haven't gone since I've gotten pregnant.  Anyway here's a little update on the baby front.

Projects

Cooper had his hundredth day of school project due last week.  He was so opinionated about what he wanted to do and how he wanted it to look.  It took both of us a long time cutting out 100 minecraft blocks and even longer to glue them on the poster board.  Originally he want to write a message with the blocks, saying he loved his teacher but he quickly changed his mind saying people would make fun of him.  Anyway he was so proud of his project and so was I, it was hard work!

At our church I am the secretary for the Children's program and we give a small gift for each child's birthday.  It was my job to come up with an idea that was gospel oriented and budget friendly (We have nearly a 100 kids).  I decided on making magnets with our theme for the year, I know my Savior lives.  Have I mentioned I am pro at modge podge now.

Birthday parties and super bowel

Two weekends ago we enjoyed several fun activities as a family!  Friday we had dinner guest, the missionaries from church.  It was a cold day and on the menu was spaghetti, salad, french bread, and angle food cake.  Saturday the day started off with a steady rain.  We went to celebrate our great niece's Harper 1st birthday, at our nephew and his girlfriends new house.  Its hard to believe that she is already one!  It was such a cute party, they served a brunch with all kinds of breakfast foods!  Later on in the day Cooper had a party for a friend from school at Chuck E Cheese.  Usually I just send Richard with one of the kids to a party but I went with Cooper this time.  We had fun playing air hockey several times.  Allison had a late over at our house with her best friend Sam, I ordered the girls pizza.  Sunday was Super Bowel and we hosted at our house.  We didn't have a special team that we were rooting for but its always fun to watch football and of course the commercials.  We had a ton of food and great company.
