Beckett's First Birthday Party

Saturday we celebrated Beckett's birthday with family in Midland.  Beckett's actual birthday is this coming Saturday but Richard has to work.  My mom was going to be in Midland for her last meeting so we decided to put together his birthday party.  I had been working on Beckett's party theme of airplanes for awhile.  I ended up forgetting the tube of airplanes and the airplane runway we made but the party was still successful.  The kids were entertained with decorating there planes, flying them through the target, hitting the airplane piƱata, and playing in the airplane cardboard boxes.  The children also enjoyed the new playground equipment at Grafa park!  It was a busy weekend and a lot of our friends were out of town but we still had plenty of people to help us celebrate Beckett turning one!!  The weather wasn't to bad under the shaded area we set the party up at.  The adults even had fun flying there boomerang airplanes!  Beckett actually slept the first half hour of his party.  It didn't dawn on me tell the morning of his party that the party was exactly during Beckett's normal nap time, oops!  Although Beckett was all smile most of the party.  My mother and father in law bought Beckett a wagon for his birthday, and he loves it!  Beckett has figured out how to climb in and out of the wagon, which he does over and over again.  I am so thankful for all the family and friends that showed up for Beckett's party it really meant a lot to me and Richard.

I was thinking back to a year ago, remember my doctor's appointment and how I was dilated to a four and the Dr (not my regular Dr b/c he was on vacation) didn't think I would make it through the weekend.  Little did she know that I would make it an entire week longer!  I desperately wanted Beckett to be born in June but that didn't happen.  I have felt so at peace this weekend.  Richard has just finished working an entire 12 straight days.  I have been so happy to have him home with us.  Beckett has truly completed our family and is such a joy to be around.  I love my lil guy so much and cant imagine my life with out little B!!

Braces update

Not the best picture but hey I am trying to document my experience with Braces. I have had two tightening appointments since having my braces put on in March.  I feel extremely blessed that I have had no problems or pain.  I honestly forget that I am wearing braces most of the time until I eat and food gets stuck in them hahaha!  I know people that experience pain with each tightening and have issues eating for up to week after, but I am lucky so far with no pain and I eat regularly right after my appointment!  On July 25th I will get my bottom braces put on, I hope that the bottom braces don't cause me problems or discomfort.  My orthodontist is very pleased with my teeth's progress.  The orthodontist has said that my teeth are straightening faster then he anticipated and doesn't expect me to be in braces the entire 18 months!  Life with braces has been interesting I forgot that I am where them sometimes and people who I haven't seen will comment about them surprisingly.  Once while I was in the office scheduling my next appointment the new receptionist ask me where my parent was and if I need to call someone to pick me up!  I about died, she didn't think I was old enough to drive!  If I didn't look young already my braces sure do make me look younger.  I am sure people think I am just the babysitter when I am out with all three of my kiddos.  I am told some day I will appreciate looking young, but right know I find it irritating.  So there is the update on the braces.

Party!

                                                                                                       My sister and her son's
(Zach is the bday boy he is 7)

We stayed in town to go to my nephew Zach's 7th birthday party.  My sister decided to have his birthday party at her ex in laws, Zachary's grandmother's house.  She has a big pool and they bbq for lunch.  The kids swam for four hours, I literally had to tear them away to drive back to Hobbs in time for dinner with Richard!  It was a hot day but under the patio it wasn't to bad besides the constant bother of flies!  I am glad we were able to be with Zach and celebrate is birthday.  I even got to spend time with my mom who was in town for the day for another meeting!  I also got to help my sister do her hair for a wedding she was going to later that night.  It was a blessed day spent with family!

Friday happenings..

Friday was a very full day, I set the alarm at 6 am and didn't not stop moving until past midnight!  WE drove into Midland around 2 pm, Cooper had another dental appointment.  Two more appointments and we will be done!  After the dentist I picked all the kids up.  I loaded the car with pillows and blankets and we went to the drive in around 6, I left early because I figured there would be a line for the new releases.  While I was waiting at the yield right before the turn on to Business 20 and the loop someone rear ended me!  A train was going through the tracks in front of us so I was the last car with about 6 or 7 cars backed up at the yield.  Once we were all clear to go I was about to put my foot on the gas when bang!  My head hit hard, my first reaction was to check on the kids.  I turned back and Allison asked me why someone hit us and she sounded a little teary eyed and said her head hurt, but the boys seemed fine.  Beckett wasn't even phased by the accident he was all smiles, I was most worried about Cooper since he was sitting in the third row.  I then called 911.  I was expecting the back end of the highlander to be smashed!  But the damage was mainly to the hitch and the left side of the bumper which is barely hanging on, I am sure both will have to be replaced.  It was a 17 year old girl who hit me, she admitted to not paying attention, and was given a ticket.  The EMT's checked each of the children out, Allison had a knot on the back of her head and they told me to keep an eye on her.  I had two knots on the back of my head but I was fine.  The police officers couldn't have been nicer to the kids, giving them stickers and suckers.  After about an hour of being detained I decided to still take the kiddos to the drive-in to see the knew Monster's Inc movie.  The kids had fun snacking, playing on the playground, and loved watching the movie.  Beckett slept the entire movie after he nearly ate my entire dinner!  It was a long day, but I felt blessed to have spent it with my kiddos and that the accident was worse.

4 babies

This past week one of Beckett's friends turned 1!  Beckett is surrounded around little friends.  There are a group of four kiddos at least 8 months older than B and another group 8 months younger than him.  But there are 5 right at Beckett's age.  There is one little girl not in the picture who is two months older than B.  I think its so fun that Beckett gets to grow up with so many friends.  In this picture B is actually the youngest of the group and the only baby not walking!  We had fun celebrating H's surprise birthday party.  So many babies walking around, and playing with toys it was so cute!  Allison and Cooper were the only big kids there, they were a lil bored but well behaved.  So thankful for time spent with wonderful friends to pass these hot summer days with.

June 15, 2013

June 15th is a special day my Aunt Ruthie's birthday, this year she would have been 70!  My thoughts turned to her all day, we were going to plan this huge surprise party for her to celebrate the big seventy, but that didn't happen.  We did however have a party for her tree planting ceremony two years ago but it wasn't quite the same.  Not a single moment passes that I don't think of my Aunt she is sorely missed.  It has not gotten easier some times harder, there are these moments I want to share with her or problems I need her to listen/solve.  Many times I catch myself saying silent prayers telling my Heavenly Father to let her know how much I miss her, how much it hurts, and how much I lover her.

Very fittingly I spent a few hours with my Mom and sister on Saturday.  My Aunt would have liked that.  My Mom and Aunt were best friends.  My Mom was in town for a meeting and we were all able to have lunch together, it was nice.  Seeing my mom re chargers my batteries I miss her so much.  Living away from her is hard, harder than I let my self believe.  I was in denial for awhile.  My mom didn't stay in Midland for long they drove straight back after lunch to FW and my sister and her family left too.  I forgot to mention that I started off my morning walking with one of my best friends who also shares a birthday with my aunt.  After lunch and running errands Richard and I dropped off the kids with my mother and father in law and went to the movies to see the new superman movie.  It was sooooooo nice to get away by ourselves even if it was for a short while.  Our time in Midland didn't last long Richard got called into work and we had to leave and drive back to Hobbs.

Baseball game 2013

I am not sure I mentioned we were in Midland this past weekend.  Friday night was the annual Chevron night at the Rockhounds baseball game.  I also don't believe that I have mentioned that my baby sister's soon to be husband works at Chevron.  Anyway the kids have really been looking forward to going and they weren't disappointed!  Chevron provide everyone with bright orange t-shirts, tickets to the game, and bbq tickets.  The food was excellent, and of course the children enjoyed all the extra snacks provided!!  The weather was nice, it had been raining on and off throughout the day and it looked like it was going to rain again but it didn't.  The weather was overcast with a slight wind, PERFECT!  The kids played with there cousin's at the play areas.  The game was a little boring our team wasn't doing so well but that didn't matter we were enjoying everyone's company.  I also want to explain the last picture, B was watching the Rockhounds mascot Rocky walking around.  It was so funny Beckett wouldn't take his eyes off him!!  I was holding Beckett remember how that big boy was in my belly exactly a year ago, so glad he is with us I love my lil guy so much!

First hair cut

On Friday we took Beckett in for his first hair cut.  I know my kid doesn't have much hair.  But when Allison and Cooper were babies we took them in at 11 months to trim up the little bit of hair they did have and you know what it started to really grow after that.  Plus B had so much blonde fuzz on the back I personally like a clean cut look on my boys hair.  His hair is so light you can hardly see it how much he really has.  I love his hair cut and I think it looks so nice all trimmed up.  Beckett wasn't to sure about getting a hair cut, he kept watching Sally and didn't really squirm until she got to trimming his neck then he was moving like crazy.  Richard had to hold his head still for the rest of the hair cut.  Hopefully more hair will start growing now lol!

Carlsbad beach

This past Thursday a few of my friends and I took our kiddos to the Carlsbad beach.  I had been invited to the Carlsbad beach a few times last summer but I was very pregnant and not up for the trip.  Carlsbad is about 45 minutes from Hobbs.  I wasn't sure what to expect about this "beach" but was pleasantly surprised!!  The beach has an area covered in sand hence the name beach.  The best part as far as my big kids were concerned was playing in the river which is quite large.  Something we didn't get to do that was available to rent out were paddle boats!  There was also an area to purchase food/drinks, snow cones, and snacks etc.  We loaded up the car with our sand toys, coolers, blankets and made a day out of it at the beach.  The kids had a blast playing with there friends and I had a ton of fun chatting it up with my girlfriends.  Beckett even took a nearly two hour nap while we were there in the playpen.  I am so glad we went and will have to go again, next time we need to hit up the cavers and the huge play structure there!
